Note: According to Death Certificate #32252, Charles Lewis Miller was foreign born and he was widowed at the time of his death. He was buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Arnheim, Brown Co on 13 Jun 1914. The 1870 Census identifies Charles L Miller as a US citizen. He owned a farm with real estate worth $700 and personal property of $625. From Charles R Holmes at [email protected]; "Charles Miller is the son of Charles L. and Charlotte (Yost) Miller. He was born Jan 1863 on a farm in Franklin township, Brown county, Ohio. He married a Margaret in 1887. "His father, Charles, was born 1 May 1833 in Schönau, Pfalz/Bayern, Germany, the son of Christian and Barbara (Baecker) Miller. [I have copy of baptism record.] He came to America with his parents and 5 other brothers and sisters in 1835/37. They settled in Franklin township. Charles married Charlotte Yost around 1855. "Daughters of Christian and Barbara Miller, Elora (Laura) and Elizabeth, married brothers Henry and Charles Frederick Blattner (Blaettner/Blatner). Henry and Elora settle in Clark county, Missouri and Charles and Elizabeth in Oskaloosa. A son of Henry and Elora, Charles, married Louise, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth...Charles and Louise had a daughter Rosamond (Rose), who married one Thomas H. Holmes, of Lincolnshire, England." |
