"My mother was one of the smartest people I ever knew. She kept the books for the store and mill, took care of the house and us children, and waited on customers in the store. Why, once my Daddy decided he wanted to take up welding. He bought a book and gave it to Moma to read. After reading it, she explained it to him. Then Daddy went out and began to weld."

Mrs. Mallie Poole
Salley - Mrs. Mallie Mae Blackwell Poole, 85 of 479 Berlin Road died Monday, Dec 10, 1990, at Aiken
Regional Medical Centers, Aiken. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Perry Assembly of God, near
Perry, with the Revs, Jimmy Rodgers, Randy Yon and Gary Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Poole Cemetery,
near Perry. Mrs. Poole was a native of Aiken County. Survivors include three daughters, Loraine
Rowell and Nina Faye Sanford, both of Warrenville, and Annette Yon, Salley: a son, L.W. Poole,
Langley; three sisters, Olga Bailey, Grantiveville, Lera Bates, Norway, and Melba Corley, Coughton;
and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchidren.
Blizzard Funeral Home, Wagener, is in charge of arrangements.
