  Edwin B. Zimmerman, 88, died Sunday at 1:25 p.m. at his home, 1206 Mulberry Avenue, of complications after an
 extended illness.
  The son of Martin and Henrietta Zimmerman, he was born May 27, 1874, in Sterling, Ill. Mr. Zimmerman has resided in Muscatine the past thirty-seven years.
  On January 5, 1898, he married Mary Andreas in Sterling, Ill. Mr. Zimmerman was of the Lutheran faith. He was a retired farmer.
  Survivors include three sons, Edward J. Zimmerman of Muscatine, Chester A. Zimmerman of Muscatine, and Phillip C. Zimmerman of Wilton; three daughters Elizabeth Adams, Sterling, Lily Gamble, Arlington Heights, Ill., and Mary Smith of Muscatine; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
  Mr. Zimmerman was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, two brothers, one son in infancy, and
 two grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home with the Rev. Everett I. Hageman officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park.
