 MUSCATINE, Iowa—Chester A. Zimmerman, 93, of Muscatine, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at All-American Care Center.
 Reverend Steven Cauley of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
 Chester was born on Jan. 6, 1920, in Sterling, Ill., the son of Edwin and Mary Andreas Zimmerman. He married Marietta Ruth Kennedy on July 8, 1945, in Muscatine.
 He was a US Army veteran serving during World War II in England in the European Theater.
 He had worked for Huttigs for 28 years and served as treasurer of the Carpenters and Joiners Union. He then worked for Grain Processing Corporation for 14 years retiring as mail supervisor.
 He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
 Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marietta Zimmerman of Muscatine; one son, Ronald Zimmerman and wife, Kathryn, of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Nicholas Zimmerman and wife, Tonya, of Davenport, and Jennifer Jeffrey and husband, Brian, of Coralville; and four great-grandchildren, Erin and Aiden Zimmerman and twins, Preston and Parker Jeffrey.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
