April 25, 1912 - Carroll Times - August Emmick is reported very ill at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.E. Albers and family, a mile north of town. June 27, 1912 - Carroll Times - August Emmick was in town Monday the first time for a long time he having been seriously ill for many months. His many friends are glad to see him about again. He is making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ed Albers and family. Sept 2, 1915 - Carroll Times - August Emmick estate have been sold by the referees, the two bringing a total of $58,210. One tract of 160 acres was sold to Messrs. Stephen and Lewis at $170 per acre or $27,200 for the tract. The other tract of 194 acres was sold to N.H. Wilson at ??? per acre or $31,240 for the tract. The referees who made the sale were Hon. Robert Odendahl and Frank Van Erdewyk. The farms were free from encumbrance and the proceeds of the sale with that of the personal property belonging to the estate, will make a neat sum to be distributed to the seven heirs among whom it is to be apportioned.
