June 6, 1963 - Carroll Daily Times - Lidderdale - Mrs. George L. Fonken, 48, Lidderdale, died Wednesday afternoon, June 5, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church here, of which she was a member, with the Rev. William G. Landgraf Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carroll after 7 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Fonken was born Sept. 23, 1914, and spent all of her life in Carroll. She was a daughter of John and Anna Wenck Heuton. Her marriage to George L. Fonken took place Sept. 23, 1936, at her parents' home.
Her father preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Richard George Fonken, Glidden; four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Anna Heuton, Carroll; one sister, Mrs. Harry Platt, Scranton; and two brothers, Clarence and Gilbert Heuton, both of Carroll.
