Richard Wilson 64, of Bradenton, Florida formerly of Almont passed away Tuesday August 14 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. He was born May 25, 1948 in Woking, England the son of John and Elizabeth (Williams) Wilson. Richard spent most of his adult life in Almont, moving to Florida in the early1990`s. He was a retired Almont Township Firefighter, member of the Imlay City Eagles, the Moose Lodge, Disabled American Veterans and volunteered for the Lee County Sheriff`s Department and Crisis Unit. He was a survivor of Hodgkin`s Lymphoma in the early 1970`s then beat prostate cancer earlier this year. Richard was proud to live in the Eagles Community in Florida and came back to Almont, Imlay City and Ontario, Canada yearly to visit family and friends.
He is survived by his first wife Sherry Wilson of Almont, one daughter Wanda (Roger Wilcox)Wilson-Wiederhold of Almont and one son Richard (April) Wilson of Almont, three grandchildren; Rebecca Wiederhold , Amanda Wilson and Austin Wilson all of Almont. Also surviving are siblings; Patricia Nelson, Joan Nelson, John Wilson and Roy Wilson all of Ontario, Canada, his girlfriend Mary Lou Collins of Bradenton, FL, many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Olive Irwin.
