"An Aged Lady Burned to Death"
A very sad accident accurred at the home of Wm. Rinehart, Esq., Franklin township, this county, last Sabbath morning at about ten o'clock, by which Mrs. Margaret Porter lost her life.
Mrs. Porter had resided with Mr. Rinehart, her son-in-law, for a number of years and was in the 77th year of her age.
On Sabbath morning she was sitting in the kitchen; one of Mr. Rinehart's daughters had been with her but just left the room, and on returning found her grandmother's clothing in flames. She was burned very badly and lingered until Monday at 11 a. m. when she died. Mrs. Porter's mind had been impaired for nearly five years and it is supposed that she went to the cooking stove and set fire to her clothing. She did not scream or exhibit any sign of fright when she was discovered, seeming not to realize what had taken place. She was a sister of Thomas Inghram, Esq., Mrs. Delilah Gordon and Mrs. Cassie Bell, of Franklin township. She was an aunt of Judge Jas. Inghram, of this place. She leaves only one child, Mrs. Jonathan Willison, of Morrisville.
The funeral was held Tuesday at 10 o'clock, Rev. Wallace conducting the services. The remains were brought to Green Mount Cemetery where they were laid to rest.

 Burned To Death.
Mrs. Porter, known as Aunt Peggy Porter, was burned to death at her home in Franklin township on Sunday last. Her son-in-law Wm. Rinehart lived in the house with her. By some means her clothing caught fire, and before assistance could be given she was horribly burned, and suffered greatly until the following day, Monday, when death came to her relief. She was quite an aged lady, being almost helpless, and by some means her clothing came in contact with the fire with the above sad result. Mrs. Porter was a highly respected lady and was a member of the M. P. church. The remains were interred in Green Mount Cemetery on Tuesday.
