Claysville, Jan 24.- Mrs. Jane Wise Sprowls, aged 82 years, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leo McGlumphy, in Wayne Street here this morning at 9:45 o'clock. She had suffered a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Sprowls was the daughter of John and Margaret Supler Wise and was born near Simpson Store. She married Simon Sprowls on December 25, 1868. He died 26 years ago. Mrs. Sprowls was the last charter member of the Valley Methodist-Episcopal church, of near Simpson store. She had made her home in that community until seven years ago, when she moved to Washington, where she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Ella Shaw. She leaves nine children, 39 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. The children surviving are: Mrs. M. J. Flynn, of Washington; Mrs. M. E. Ealy of Claysville, Mrs. S. A. Dagg (sic) of Washington RD6, Mrs. Ella Shaw of Washington, Mrs. Nellie (sic) Porter of Nineveh RD, Mrs. Effie Huffman of Graysville, Mrs. Sofia Barker of Washington, Jacob Sprowls of West Finley and Mrs. George (sic) McGlumphy, of Claysville. Two brothers and a sister are surviving as follows: T. H. Wise, of Huntington W.Va, L. S. Wise of Time and Mrs. Mary Huffman of Time. Funeral services will be held in the home of her daughter, Mrs. McGlumphy, of Wayne Street, Sunday, January 26, in charge of Rev. O.S. Fowler, pastor of the Claysville Presbyterian Church, followed by further services in the Fairmont United Brethren church, in charge of Rev. John Winwood. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery. She was united in marriage with Simon Sprowls, December 25, 1868, and they resided on a farm near Simpson's Store. His death occurred 26 years ago. She was the last charter member of the Valley M. Second I give devise and bequeath to my son Jacob Sprowls one hundred and twenty five ($125.00) dollars to be paid him by my executors. Third I give devise and bequeath to my daughters Essie and Alta my dishes. Fourth I give devise and bequeath to my son Fred, and my two daughters Essie and Alta my bed clothes and bedding. Fifth I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Essie my organ. Sixth I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Alta sewing machine, bureau and locker. Seventh after the above bequeaths are taken out I order and direct that all the rest and residue of my estate real, personal or mixed be equally divided among my six following children, Ma?, T. B. Sprowls, Ella Shaw, Fred Sprowls, Nannie Porter, Essie V. Sprowls and Alta Sprowls. I do hereby make, constitute and appoint my two Sons T. B. and Fred Sprowls to be Executors of this my Last Will and Testament.
