Porter, 72, of 1046 Jefferson Avenue, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 1970, in Washington Hospital where she had been a patient the last four days. A daughter of William E. and Lucy Doak Porter, she was born June 11, 1897, in East Millsboro, Fayette County. Miss Porter was a graduate of East Bethlehem High School and Washington Business College. She was employed for over 35 years by the Duncan and Miller Glass Company. A member of the Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church, Miss Porter was also a charter member of the WomenÕs Society of Christian Service at the church. She was a teacher of the Four Square Class of the Sunday School for over 35 years and was a member of the WomenÕs Christian Temperance Union. Miss Porter was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. PORTER - Friends of Helen G. Porter, of 1046 Jefferson Avenue, who died Thursday, March 19, 1970, will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday; from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and until 1:30 p.m. Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday by Rev. Nicola Grenci, pastor of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church. Burial in Washington Cemetery.
