 HARRY B. PORTER
  Harry B. Porter, 67, of 155 Third street, died Sunday, March 7, 1965, at the Pine Lawn Home and Sanitarium, Houston. He was injured in a truck accident on the morning of January 11, 1965, in Pittsburgh, and was in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, until a week ago when he was moved to the Pine Lawn Home.
  He was born June 11, 1897, in East Millsboro, Fayette County, a son of William E. and Lucy Doak Porter.
  Mr. Porter belonged to the Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church and was in the MenÕs Bible Class of the church. He was also superintendent of the Sunday School of the church for over 20 years and was a trustee at the time of his death.
  He attended the schools of East Millsboro as a youth.
  Mr. Porter was a retired mail carrier with 35 years service.
  He served in the Army in World War I from July 14, 1918, to April 12, 1919.
  Mr. Porter was a charter member and the chaplain of Men of Retirement Age (M. O. R. A.), and was a member of the YMCA and Edwin Scott Linton Post No. 175, American Legion.
  He married Lillian Spangler on April 30, 1925.
  Surviving are two sisters: Miss L. Mabel Porter and Ellen (sic) G. Porter, both of 1046 Jefferson avenue, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
  His wife died December 29, 1963. Two brothers: Clarence and Wendell, of Washington; and two sisters: Fanny (sic), wife of Charles Jolly (sic), of Claysville, R. D. 1, and Edna, wife of Madress Howard, of Washington, are deceased. A sister, Bertha, died in infancy.

  PORTER - Friends of Harry B. Porter, of 155 Third street, who died Sunday, March 7, 1965, will be received from 7-9 p. m. Monday, March 8, and from 2-4 and 7-9 p. m. Tuesday, March 9, at the Piatt Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday, March 10, by Rev. Richard M. King, pastor of Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church. Burial in Washington Cemetery.
