 INGHRAM.
In the death of Thomas Inghram, Esq., which occurred at his home, in Franklin township, on Saturday evening July 14, one of Greene countyÕs oldest and most respected citizens passed away. Mr. Inghram was in his 88th year and the immediate cause of his death was heart trouble. He was born and had lived all his life on the farm on which he died. He was a man known always for great kindness of heart, unquestioned integrity and uprightness of character. Among all of his neighbors and acquaintances he was held in the highest respect and there were none who did not speak well of him. By thrift and industry he accumulated considerable wealth and spent his declining years in a comfortable brick house, his farm being among the best in the county. His wife whose maiden name was Crayne has been dead some years. They leave five children, William, Thomas, Mrs. Cinda Wood, Arthur and Miss Cora Inghram. Mr. Inghram had been one of a family of ten children, his brothers and sisters being, Dr. Arthur Inghram, who was the father of Judge Inghram and Mrs. S. C. Lindsey, of this place, William Inghram, Mrs. Nancy Bell, Mrs. Catharine Bell, Mrs. Margaret Porter, Mrs. Ollie Porter, Mrs. Solomon Gordon, Miss Brice Gordon and Mrs. Levi Strawn. The funeral was held on Monday at 10 oÕclock, the remains being laid to rest in the burial ground on the farm of the late George Inghram, deceased.
