The census indicates that he was a 30 year old (NOTE: HIS AGE CONFLICTS WITH INFORMATION FOUND IN OTHER SOURCES) general superintendent, working for the highway department as a wage or salary worker in government work. He had worked 48 hours for pay or profit during the week of March 24-30 and 52 weeks in 1939, earning $1,800. He did not receive income of $50 or more from other sources. He had completed 2 years of college. He was married and living with his parents, his wife and 1 sister in a house, which was rented for $40 per month, at 355 Allison Avenue in the 7th Ward. On April 1, 1935, he lived in the same house. He is listed as having been born in Pennsylvania. His given name is listed as "Louis" in this census.

 LOUIS C. FORSYTHE
  Louis C. Forsythe, 59, of 9 Fourth Street, Union City, died suddenly of a heart attack at 7 a. m. Thursday, July 27, 1967, in Union City Hospital.
  Mr. Forsythe was born Feb. 17, 1908, at Fayette City, a son of William E. and Elma Cope Forsythe. He was a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College in 1930. He served as project engineer for the U. S. Army Engineers at Union City for the past 11 years and was formerly superintendent of highways in Washington and Potter counties.
  He was a member of Eulalia Lodge 342, F and AM, Coudersport, and Coudersport Consistory, and a former member of Central Presbyterian Church.
  Surviving are his wife, Elanor (sic) Post Fordyce; one son, Edgar, at home; one daughter, Susan, state of California, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Krosnoff, Scenery Hill.
