He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Porter, deceased, and was highly esteemed. He was in the U. S. service and was training in the auto mechanics school of Pittsburg university. He left Waynesburg with the last contingent of drafted men on Oct. 15. He is survived by one brother, Clarence, who is in the service, and the following sisters: Misses Viola and Goldie, of East Waynesburg; Miss Florence Porter, a nurse in Washington, Pa.; Mrs. Metta Smith, of near Washington, and Mrs. Linnie Powers, of Richhill township.
