  Our dear brother has been called away,
 To see the dawn of a fairer day;
 Though to us his dear were closed,
 Yet in his bright face sweet peace reposed.
  It was hard so hard to lay
 Our brother in the cold cold grave;
 He is now where harps are ringing,
 Through the heaven by courts above.
  In that blissfull world weÕll meet you,
 When this short life is oÕer;
 Dear wife you may greet him,
 On that bright celestial shore.
  Sleep dearest brother peacefully sleep,
 God knows that it was best,
 Soon on the golden shore weÕll meet;
 And share an endless rest.
  We miss thee where eÕer we look,
 Who from us by death was took,
 And think this a warning to us all,
 To be ready at Jesus call.
  Dear father and mother weep for your son
 no more,
 Prepare to meet him on the other shore;
 Where sad farewells are never spoken,
 And loving hearts are never broken.
  We feel the stroke of sorrow,
 We miss our cear (sic) brother to-day;
 His smiles of friendly greeting
 So soon has passed away.
  Sister-in-law Minnie.
