 MRS. JAMES I. THOMPSON
Mrs. Myrtle Huffman Thompson, wife of James I. Thompson, died at their home in Rogersville, August 30, aged 37 years, after a three weeks' illness of a complication of diseases. She was the oldest child of Joseph and Minnie Lightner Huffman, of Nineveh. She was born July 19, 1879, and spent her girlhood days at Nineveh. She was united in marriage with James I. Thompson March 19, 1897 (sic). To this union was born one son, Russell C. (sic) Thompson, whose death occurred on August 9, 1913, and for whose death his parents never ceased to mourn. Beside her husband and parents she is survived by two sisters and five brothers: Mrs. Charles Durbin, and Mrs. Donald Ely, of Nineveh, William Huffman, of Hopewell, Harley Huffman, of Holbrook, Micajah, Ray and Joseph Huffman, Jr., of Nineveh. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Christian church at Rogersville, and was an earnest active worker in all departments of church service. She was a good wife, a loving mother and a kind true friend and it can be truly said of her, "None knew her but to love her, none named her but to praise." The funeral services were held in the Christian church at 3 p. m. on Thursday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. N. R. Athey, assessed by Rev. W. G. Condit, of the M. P. church, and Rev. G. A. Parkins of the M. E. church. The interment was made in Rosemont cemetery.
