 Meighen - 90 years
  Grace Frances (sic) Meighen of Washington celebrated her 90th birthday with family.
  She was born February 10, 1920, in East Finley.
  On December 20, 1942, she married Harold Mark Meighen, who is deceased.
  Mrs. Meighen has one son, Douglas Meighen (Karen) of Washington. She has three grandsons, Mark, Scott and Michael Meighen.
  As a child, Mrs. Meighen attended Jordan school, a one-room school house in East Finley. She earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio State University (NOTE: THIS CONFLICTS WITH INFORMATION FOUND IN ANOTHER SOURCE) and a master's degree in library science from Duquesne University. She retired as high school librarian for Chartiers-Houston School District. She also was co-founder of Washington Area Teachers Federal Credit Union and is active in the activities of the Church of the Covenant and American Association of University Women.

  Grace F. Meighen, 94, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, South Strabane Township.
  She was born February 10, 1920, in East Finley, a daughter of George P. and Josephine Porter Francis.
  Following high school, she obtained her bachelor's degree at Bethany College and her master's degree in library science at Duquesne University. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and cooking.
  Mrs. Meighen was a librarian at Chartiers-Houston High School.
  Even in retirement, she remained a member of many organizations, including the Washington Area Teachers Federal Credit Union, where she was a founding member and past manager; American Association of University Women, once treasurer; the Delta Kappa Gamma Society; 50-year member of Church of the Covenant, served as deacon and trustee; Pennsylvania Retired Teachers; National Education Association; Washington County Association of School Retirees; Pennsylvania Retired Public School Employees Association; Washington County Retired Public School Employees Association; and for 30 years, was an AARP member.
  On December 20, 1942, she married Harold W. Meighen, who died June 2, 1980.
  Surviving are a son, Douglas G. (Karen) Meighen of Washington; three grandchildren, Mark Harold (Jenna) Meighen of New Castle and Scott Allen and Michael Patrick Meighen, both of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
  Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Leanna Bristor and Margaret Newlyn, and two brothers, Ronald and Kenneth Francis.
  Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, March 22, in Forest Lawn Gardens Chapel, McMurray. Those attending the service should be at the funeral home by noon.
