WILLIAM H. PORTER
William H. Porter, 72, formerly a well-known farmer of Waynesburg, R. D. 1, died at 3:27 a. m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 1956 at the Tempe Hospital, Tempe, Ariz., following a cerebral hemorrhage suffered on Friday, Feb. 3. He had been living for the past three months with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Myers of Tempe.
He was born June 13, 1883, in Greene County, a son of the late Justice and Selina Huffman Porter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Dunn Porter.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by five grandchildren.
PORTER - Friends of William H. Porter, formerly of Waynesburg, R. D., who died at Tempe, Ariz., Sunday, Feb. 5, 1956, will be received after 7 p. m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the George I. Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, where funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday, Feb. 10, with Rev. William Auld officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.

WILLIAM H. PORTER
William H. Porter, 72 years, of Waynesburg R. D. 1, died Sunday, February 5, 1956, in a hospital at Tempe, Arizona, where he had been residing with his daughter, Mrs. Charles R. Myers for the past three months. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage suffered two days previously. He was the son of Justice and Selima (sic) Huffman Porter, and was born June 13, 1883, in Morgan Township. Mr. Porter had engaged in farming. His wife, Ella Dunn Porter, died several years ago. Surviving is his daughter, Mrs. Myers. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 oÕclock in the Church Funeral Home in Waynesburg, conducted by Rev. William D. Auld. Interment in Greene County Memorial Park.

TEMPE, Feb. 6 - William H. Porter, 78, of 1309 Farmer Ave., Tempe, died yesterday in the Tempe Clinic Hospital after a short illness.
Services and burial will be held in Waynesburg, Pa. CarrÕs Mortuary of Tempe is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Porter was a native of Waynesburg, and a retired farmerr (sic). He had resided here three months.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles R. Myers, of Tempe; and five grandchildren.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that for and in consideration of Seventy-five and 00/100 DOLLARS ($75.00) paid to the Greene County Memorial Cemetery Company by William H. Porter and Ella Porter, his wife, Grantee, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the Greene County Memorial Cemetery Company, a corpoartion organized under the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, does hereby grant, sell and convey to the said Grantee, William H. Porter and Ella Porter, his wife, their heirs and assigns, the exclusive use in fee simple for the purpose of sepulture alone, of the following described lot of ground in said Cemetery situated in the Township of Morgan, County of Greene and State of Pennsylvania, designated as W 1/2 of E. 1/2 Lot No. 256, Block E, Section B, as shown on the Plot of said Cemetery recorded in the RecorderÕs Office of Greene County, Pennsylvania, in Plat Book Vol. 1. Ten per cent of the above consideration to be deposited by the Cemetery Company with the Trustee named for that purpose as endowment of the park, the income from which shall be used for its perpetual care and maintenance.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same subject at all times to the right of the Greene County Memorial Cemetery Company to grade and improve said lot and to remove any trees , shrubbery or structures of any kind therefrom and subject to the restrictions that no bodies except those of the white or Caucasian race may be interred in said lot, and subject also and at all times to any and all the rules and regulations of the said Greene County Memorial Cemetery Company now or hereafter adopted for the government of the said Memorial Cemetery and subject also to the condition that all graves on said lot shall be marked by appropriate and uniform bronze markers as designated by the Cemetery Company. And subject also to the condition that no sale or transfer of the right, title and interest of the Grantee, his or her heirs or assigns, in said lot or lots, shall be valid until approved by Grantor and registered upon the books of the Grantor.
The Greene County Memorial Cemetery Company doth hereby constitute and appoint Russell Roberts to be its Attorney for it and in its name and as and for its corporate act and deed to acknowledge this deed before any person having authority by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to take such acknowledgements to the intent that the same may be duly recorded.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF the said Greene County Memorial Cemetery Company has caused its corporate seal to be hereto affixed and by these presents to be signed by its President or Vice-President and attested by its Secretary or Assistant Secretary this 15th day of September, 1950.
