Porter, at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged , hath granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents,-According to the directions of the said last-recited writ, and by force & virtue thereof, doth grant, bargain, and sell, unto the said David R. He was the son of John and Hannah Porter, of Greene Co., Pa. He married Miss Jane Huffman, daughter of Wm. Huffman a well known farmer of Morris township. To this union seven children was (sic) born, Ida, wife of Albert Powers, of Time, Pa., Jessie, Daisy, William H. (sic), Edward, Minnie and Josie. He was buried in Enon cemetery, Sunday, April 23, followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends. He died leaving three brothers and four sisters, J. S. Porter, Steward of ChildrenÕs Home, Levi, of Harveys, Pa., Mrs. Henry Huffman, Waynesburg, Pa., Mrs. Jacob King, Hoovers Run, Pa., Mrs. Caleb Spragg, Spraggs, Pa., Margaret Porter, Blacksville, W. Va., and James I. Porter, of Blacksville, W. Va. who died about 15 (sic) months previous. He was an industrious farmer and was kind and generous, was loved and respected by all who knew him. The family has the heartfelt sympathy of all friends in this time of sorrow and affliction. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lewis Phillips, of Burnsville, Pa.
