ORLAND A. POWERS
Orland A. Powers, 73, Rogersville, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 9, a (sic) state hospital after a yearÕs illness.
He was born in Morris Township on July 8, 1877, the son of John and Jane Ray Powers. He had lived most of his life in Greene County and was a retired farmer and merchant.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Porter Powers; a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Powers Rush of Nineveh; two granddaughters, Mrs. William Hartzell of Rogersville and Mrs. Robert G. Rockwell of Detroit, Mich.; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. I. C. Rhodes of Washington. One son, Ray, is deceased.
POWERS - Funeral services for Orland A. Powers, Rogersville, who died Wednesday, August 9, 1950, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday, Aug. 11, 1950, in the Scott Funeral Home, Rogersville, with the Revs. Kenneth G. Coggon and L. W. Peters officiating. Burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends received in the funeral home after 1 p. m. Thursday.
