 SPRAGG, LARNIE of Spraggs, PA. 28 years old. Born in 1888. Died on Sept. 23, 1916. Cause was typhoid fever. Mother was MRS. CAROLINE M. SPRAGG of Franklin Twp. Brother was Porter Spragg of Franklin Twp. Half-Sister was Mrs. C. K. Spragg of Waynesburg, PA. Half-Brothers are: Marion Spragg of Ridgeway, MO; and Dr. S. L. Spragg of Wheeling, WV. Buried at Otho Spragg Burying Grounds.

 1900 census data from the census images for Wayne Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania (Enumeration District 105 - sheet 8B - image 16 - line 56) on Ancestry.com. The census indicates that he was 11 years old and born in September, 1888. He had attended school for 5 months within the census year. He was single and living with his parents, 1 brother and a half-niece on a farm which was owned and mortgaged. He is listed as having been born in Pennsylvania as were his father and mother. His given name and middle initial are listed as "Lorna C" in this census.
  1910 (April 19-20) census data from the census images for Wayne Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania (Enumeration District 121 - sheet 2B - image 4 - line 69) on Ancestry.com. The census indicates that he was a 21 year old laborer working as an employee on a general farm. He was single and living with his parents and his father's granddaughter on a farm which was owned free of any mortgage. He is listed as having been born in Pennsylvania as were his father and mother. His given name and middle initial are listed as "Larna C" in this census, but it is difficult to read. His age is also difficult to read. It looks like it is listed as "31", but other records indicate it should be "21".

 Obituary from Democrat Messenger, Friday, September 29, 1916, page 5 (files of Cornerstone Genealogical Society, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania)
  Larney Spragg, son of Mrs. Caroline M. Spragg, of Spraggs, died Sunday morning at 6 o'clock in the Waynesburg hospital following an illness of typhoid fever. He was aged 23 years, and was a well-known young farmer of the Spraggs section. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church. Besides his mother the following relatives survive: A brother, Porter Spragg, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3; a half-sister, Mrs. C. K. Spragg, of Waynesburg; two half -brothers, Marlon Spragg of Ridgeway, Mo., and Dr. S. L. Spragg, of Wheeling, W. Va. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock in the Methodist Protestant church at Spraggs. The services will be conducted by Dr. David Jones, of Waynesburg, assisted by Rev. Theodore Darnell, of Fordyce. Interment will be in the Otho Spragg burying ground.
