The following from a posting on the Greene County Genealogy Project Obituary Board (posted February 3, 2003 by LauraNellePolandMallett):
  Bring Aid Too Late.
 Funeral Services Today
Waynesburg, Dec. 18 - The heroism of two blind sisters failed to prevent the death of a third sister, also blind, who was fatally burned in her home near Time on Friday and died on Saturday. Death came to Miss Flora Huffman, 70, Saturday, December 17, at 8 AM., in the home of Thomas E. Ealy, near Time, Nineveh, R.D.1, where she made her home.
Miss Huffman and her two sisters, Misses Ella and Ada May Huffman, all blind, were in the same room in the Ealy home about noon Friday, when her clothing was ignited by a gas heating stove. Her sisters, despite their blindness, tried to give aid, but their efforts were unavailing. Their screams attracted Mrs. Ealy from another part of the home, and she was able to extinguish the flames with the use of blankets, but by that time Miss Huffman's clothing had been mostly burned away and a large part of her body was seriously burned.
As far as known here, the three sisters have been blind all their lives. Their parents were William and Margaret Stewart Huffman, and they were born and spent their entire lives in Morris Township. Miss Flora Huffman was born February 16, 1868. She was a member of the Union Valley Methodist Protestant Church.
Surviving are four sisters and a brother, Mrs. Kate Breese of Sycamore RD1; Mrs. Jane Porter, Miss Ella Huffman, Miss Ada May Huffman and R.S. Huffman, all of Nineveh, RD1.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19. There will be short services at the Ealy home at 10 o'clock, followed by services at the Union Valley Church, in charge of the Rev. G. E. Seboti. Burial will be in the
 Union Valley Cemetery.
