"MRS. HANNAH (DAISY) PORTER POWERS, aged 79 years, formerly of Rutan, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 1957, at the Greene Hills Farm, after a long illness.
Mrs. Powers was born January 22, 1878 (NOTE: THE YEAR OF BIRTH CONFLICTS WITH THAT LISTED IN THE FAMILY BIBLE), near Oak Forest, a daughter of the late David and Jane Huffman Porter.
Her husband, O.A. Powers, died August 9, 1950.
She resided all her life in Greene County.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Goldie Powers Rush, of Athens, O.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Betty Hartzell, of Athens, O., and Mrs. Virginia Rockwell, of Wyandotte, Mich.; three great-granddaughters; three sisters, Miss Minnie Porter, of Prosperity; Mrs. Josie Francis, of Claysville, and Mrs. Jessie McKee, of Washington, and two brothers, Edward Porter, of Washington, and William Porter, of Time.
One son, Ray Powers, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Powers, are deceased."
