SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVES TRAVELING AMONG THE STORES IN THE INTEREST OF DEPARTMENTS 28 AND 28A The three young women whose photographs appear at the top of this page have been chosen for the work assigned to them because of their years of experience with the Murphy Company and their outstanding ability. All three of them are old-time Murphy Company employees and in addition to their wealth of experience in general store work and operation, they have been thoroughly schooled and trained in the work assigned to them; that of traveling among the stores in the interest of the WomenÕs Wear Departments. These three women recently completed a most successful tour of the stores in the interest of the Paint Department. Many letters were received from store managers commending them for their work and we believe the excellent sales results for the Paint Department so far this year are largely due to their efforts. In time, one of these women will arrive at your store to spend at least one full day in Departments 28 and 28A. They will work with your salespeople in those departments and in general impart information to you and your co-workers which will be of interest. You will be advised in advance of their arrival so as to give you an opportunity to get everything in readiness for them and to see that your head WomenÕs Wear salesgirl is on the job that day. Also, to enable you to arrange for extra help in the department so that the head of the department can spend the full day with the representative. SALES PROMOTION J. M. ELLIS Source - Margaret B.
