Vitteck, 62, 0f 962 Buena Vista Street, Washington, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 1977, in the Washington Hospital Extended Care facility after a long illness. She was born September 26, 1915, in Greene County, a daughter of Sophia Jane Sprowls Barker and the late Franklin (Frank) Barker. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Christian Mothers of the Church. She was also a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary of Hawkins Post No. 927, Washington, member and past president of the Slovak-American Auxiliary of Washington and a member of Navy Mothers Clubs of America, Washington Branch 1004. For 20 years she was County Democratic Committee Woman in Canton Township. She also took part in many charity drives in the township. Surviving are her widower, George W. Vitteck Sr.; three sons, George W. and Gerald L., both of Washington, and Gary of Parma Heights, Ohio; her mother, Sophia Barker; one sister, Silvia (sic) Jamison of Washington; three brothers, Arthur Barker of Washington and Stanley and Donald Barker, both of Toledo, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. Two brothers, Elzie and Howard Barker, are deceased. VITTECK - Friends of Goldie E. Vitteck, of 962 Buena Vista Street, Washington, who died Wednesday, October 19, 1977, will be received after 7 p.m. Thursday in the Abel Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue.
