She was born in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late, Thomas and Sadie Phillips Black. She was a member of the Glenville Chapter No. 90 Order of Eastern Star, and the Trinity United Methodist Church in Glenville. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Porter; three sons, John E. "Ed" Sr., of Mannington, Charles J. "Jack" of Glenville and Donald F. "Don" of Troy; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Huffman of Cambridge, Ohio; eight grandsons, seven great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William, and two brothers, and a sister. Services were held on Monday, September 3 at the Spurgeon Mortuary, with the Rev. Martin A. Berisford officiating. Burial was in the Stalnaker Cemetery.
