Berryhill, 89, of 11943 Camino Rancho Drive, Houston, Texas, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 1 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2001, in South West Memorial Hospital, Houston. He was born October 24, 1912, in Waynesburg, a son of Albert B. and Alice Robinson Berryhill. Mr. Berryhill lived most of his life in Waynesburg and lived in Texas for the past five years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg, where he was a former member of its board. Mr. Berryhill was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and attended Waynesburg College. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Prior to serving in the military, he was a manager of a state liquor store in Waynesburg. Mr. Berryhill was a life member of James Farrell American Legion Post 330 and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793, both in Waynesburg. He was a charter member and past president of Waynesburg Optimist Club, as well as a member of Waynesburg Odd Fellows Lodge, where he held several different chairs. For more than 25 years, Mr. Berryhill owned and operated Berryhill Atlantic Service Station in Waynesburg. His first wife, Arabelle Pitcock Berryhill, died August 12, 1965. His second wife, Edith Roberts Berryhill, died July 3, 1983. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Petley of Houston; a son, Richard G. Berryhill of Liverpool, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Porter of Savannah, Ga., and Nelda Tennant of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Mary B. May and Estella B. Hatfield; and two brothers, Charles R. and Samuel T. Berryhill.
