Her given name and middle initial are listed as "Hazel N" in this census. -------------------- MISS HAZEL FLYNN The death of Miss Hazel Flynn occurred at the home of her parents, Michael J. and Mary Sprowls Flynn, 21 Laurel avenue, Washington, Sunday morning, Sept. 24, 1916, after an illness of six months of a complication of lung troubles, at the age of 24. A brief service was held at her late home Tuesday forenoon, conducted by Rev. Frank Fish. The funeral cortage accompanied the remains in automobiles to Claysville in the afternoon, and the full service was held in the Presbyterian church, which was well filled with friends of the family. The service was in charge of Dr. Fish, who was assisted by Dr. A. MacLachlan. There was a number of beautiful floral emblems. The pall bearers were Gayl. Buchanan, Homer Burns, Guy McCracken, Ray Brownlee, Herbert Sprowls, of Boswell, Clarence Sprowls, of Good Intent. Interment in Claysville cemetery. The deceased was a native of West Finley township. Her early life was spent around Good Intent, where her father was a merchant. They resided in Claysville a number of years, during which she attended the public and high school and united with the Presbyterian congregation. She was graduated from Washington Business College, in which she took a business and commercial course. After graduation she has been employed as stenographer for Attorneys J. M. McBurney and J. C. Spriggs until she wa staken ill. Besides her parents she leaves three brothers and one sister - Morford Flynn, druggist, of Bluefield, W. Va.; Cecil Flynn, druggistsÕ assistant at Boswell, Pa.; Russell and Bessie Flynn at home. Miss Flynn had many warm friends here whose sympathy goes out to the bereaved family.
