Mr. Isaac Supler, an aged and respected citizen of Eno (sic), departed this life August 22, 1896, with cancer of the stomach. He had been afflicted for several months. The funeral took place the following day. Rev. E. K. Bailey conducted the services after which a vast concourse of friends and relatives followed his remains to the last resting place at the home burying grounds. Mr. Supler was 73 years 8 months 11 days of age. He was the father of eleven children, seven of whom are living. He has been a member of the Disciple church, of Jacksonville, for a number of years. He was a noble and exemplary citizen, a kind father and loving husband by all who knew him. Dear grand father thou hast left us, And thy loss we deeply feel; But Ôtis God who has bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. We stood by thee to the last, With our hearts wrung with grief; And wiped the sweat from off thy forehead, For we knew your stay was brief. A place in our home is vacant, A place that never can be filled; A dear one has left us, A voice we loved so well is stilled. Our dear grandfather is dead but not forgotten.
