 Herschel A. Sprowls
  Herschel A. Sprowls, 92, of Prosperity R.D.1, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 1991, in the Humbert Lane Personal Care Center, Washington.
  He was born September 3, 1898, in East Finley Township (Enon), a son of Thomas B. and Rebecca J. Ealy Sprowls, and was a resident of the Prosperity area since 1962.
  Mr. Sprowls was a member of the Enon Baptist Church, Harvey's Grange 1444 and the Pomona Grange.
  He was a member of the Claysville Masonic Lodge, F&AM 447; 32nd Degree Scottish Rite; and AAONM Shrine, Valley of Pittsburgh. Mr. Sprowls also was a member of the Washington Hospital Auxiliary and McGuffey Senior Citizens.
  He was employed as manager of the Charmar Farms, retiring in 1962.
  His wife, Stella R. McCombs Sprowls, whom he married September 6, 1922, died January 3, 1968.
  He is survived by twin children, the Rev. Louis A. Sprowls of East Brady and Mrs. Reed (Louise) Hickman of Prosperity R.D.1; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wray Sprowls of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Mabel Kilgore of Claysville and Ruth Stagg of Prosperity; and a stepsister, Mary York of Washington.
  Deceased are two grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence and Earl Sprowls; and a sister, Wilda Miller.
  SPROWLS - Friends of Herschel A. Sprowls of Prosperity R.D.1, who died Tuesday, January 8, 1991, will be received in the Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and in the William G. Neal Funeral Home, 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Friends also will be received in the Enon Baptist Church on Friday, January 11, from noon to 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Thomas H. Hughes officiating, Interment in Enon Cemetery. HarveyÕs Grange 1444 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Rush Funeral Home. The Claysville Masonic Lodge will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the William G. Neal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Enon Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home.
