The following obituary is from posting No. 6732 on RootsWeb.com Greene County, Pennsylvania Message Board ('Spragg obits A-Z' posted by Laura Nelle Poland Mallett on February 7, 2003).
Caroline Matilda Porter Spragg, widow of the late Caleb A. Spragg, died at 2 oÕclock Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, at her home near Spraggs, aged 72 years, two months and two days. Death was due to a complication of diseases. The deceased was a daughter of John and Hannah Rinehart Porter, deceased, and was born in Franklin township. The greater part of her life, however, was spent in the Spraggs section, where she was quite well known. She was a member of the Spraggs Methodist Protestant church. On April 6, 1884, she was united in marriage with Caleb A. Spragg, whose death occurred in 1913. To this union were born two sons, Porter Spraggs, of Spraggs, and Larney Spragg, deceased. Besides the one son, two sisters, Miss Margaret Porter, of near Spraggs, and Mrs. Jacob King, of Kuhntown, survive. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 oÕclock in the Spraggs Methodist Protestant church. The services were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles Smith. Interment was in the Spragg cemetery.

MRS. CALEB A. SPRAGG
Mrs. Matilda P. Spragg, wife of Caleb A. Spragg, died at their home near Spraggs, Tuesday morning, November 11, aged 72 years, of a complication of diseases. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant church, and was highly esteemed. Beside her husband she is survived by one son, Porter Spragg, of Waynesburg, R. D., and two sisters, Mrs. Jacob King and Miss Margaret Porter. The funeral services were held Thursday in the Spraggs M. P. church, conducted by the Rev. Charles M. Smith, of Fordyce. Interment in the Spragg family burying ground.
