Berryhill, 85, of 1114 Neal Drive, Alexandria, Va., formerly of Waynesburg, died at 3:15 p. m. Sunday, August 27, 1995, in Mt. Vernon Nursing Center, Alexandria, following a lengthy illness. He was born August 5, 1910, in Waynesburg, a son of Albert B. and Alice Robinson Berryhill. Mr. Berryhill lived his entire life in Greene County, except for the last 4 1/2 years when he resided in Alexandria. Mr. Berryhill was a 1928 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg and the administrative board of the church. Mr. Berryhill was a veteran of World War II. He served with the U. S. Army's 69th General Hospital in the European and Pacific theaters. Mr. Berryhill worked as a meat cutter. He worked at the former Steamline Market and Triple A Market, both of Waynesburg. He retired in 1975 from the former Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. store in Waynesburg. Following his retirement, Mr. Berryhill worked for five years with Waynesburg Packing Co. Mr. Berryhill was a member of James Farrell American Legion Post 330, Waynesburg. For many years, he was a volunteer with Greene County Hospice. His wife, Sara Strosnider Berryhill, died January 28, 1981. He is survived by a daughter, Lanah Berryhill Hamrick of Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Estella Hatfield, Mrs. Ralph (Peg) Porter and Mrs. Lloyd (Nelda) Tennant, all of Waynesburg; a brother, George A. Berryhill of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Mary Berryhill May; and a brother, Charles R. Berryhill. BERRYHILL - Friends of Samuel T. Berryhill of 1114 Neal Drive, Alexandria, Va., formerly of Waynesburg, who died Sunday, August 27, 1995, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 31, with the Rev. David Holste officiating. Interment in Greene County Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793, American Legion Post 330 and Disabled American Veterans Post 123, all of Waynesburg. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease Alliance of Western Pennsylvania, 1103 Arrott Building, 401 Wood Street, Pittsburg, Pa. 15222.
