Berry, Alice Post 1907-1992
Alice Post Berry, 85, of Eighty Four R.D. 3, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1992, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born March 11, 1907, in Niles, Ohio a daughter of John L. and Bertha Sprowls Post.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church, Eighty Four, where she served as organist for more than 25 years. She also was a member of the church Christian Neighbor Bible Class and Women's Missionary Society.
She attended Taylorstown Elementary School and graduated from Claysville High School and Indiana Normal School now known as Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
She taught for many area schools and retired in 1970 from Canon-McMillan School District.
On Sept. 29, 1934, she married Robert M. Berry, who died Nov. 6, 1977.
Surviving are one son, Robert P. Berry of Canonsburg; Two daughters, Mrs. James W. (Nancy) Saxton (sic) of Eighty Four and Mrs. Richard H. (Rebecca) Quay of Oxford, Ohio; one brother, Clarke S. Post of Taylorstown; two sisters, Dorothy Knox of Claysville and Helen Martha Kirby of Belen, N. M.; five grandchildren, Michelle Lane, Maria, William and Daniel Quay and Elizabeth Saxon; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one daughter, Sara Elizabeth Berry, and one sister, Mary Irvin.

BERRY - Friends of Alice Post Berry of Eighty Four R.D.3, who died Saturday, November 21, 1992, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, with the Rev. Mark L. Juengel officiating. Interment to follow in Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church. Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Directors Inc.
