She was born August 1, 1914, in Blaine Township, Washington County, a daughter of the late John Linley and Bertha Elizabeth Sprowls Post. Mrs. Knox was a 1932 graduate of Claysville High School. She resided in Claysville most of her life. Mrs. Knox was a member of Claysville Christian Church, where she was a member of the choir and missionary society. She was also a volunteer for Washington Hospital Auxiliary for about 25 years and a member of Claysville Senior Center, where she delivered Meals on Wheels for about four years. She enjoyed knitting afghans for her family and making knotted baby blankets. On December 19, 1935, she married Clyde Monroe Knox, who died in January 1977. Surviving are a son, Charles Knox and wife Vickie of Washington; two daughters, Frances Moorehead and husband Sonny of Claysville and Cindy Munnell and husband Tom of Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Martha Kirby of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter-in-law, Mary S. Knox of Claysville; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, George Edward Knox, who died in 2006; a brother, Clark S. Post; and two sisters, Mary Irwin and Alice Berry. Also deceased is her companion, Hubert White. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Claysville Christian Church, 128 Church Street, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 16, with the Rev. Meade Lacock officiating. Private interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Claysville Christian Church, P.O.
