The census indicates that he was a 32 year old shipping clerk, working in a paint store as a wage or salary worker in private work. He had worked 40 hours for pay or profit during the week of March 24-30 and 45 weeks in 1939, earning $1,200. He did not receive income of $50 or more from other sources. He had completed the 8th grade. He was married and living with his wife, 1 son and 1 daughter in a house, which was rented for $20 per month, on Wayne Street. On April 1, 1935, he lived in the same place. He is listed as having been born in Pennsylvania. His given name is listed as ÒKennethÓ in this census.

 KENNETH D. IRWIN
  Kenneth D. Irwin, 67, of 123 Wayne Street, Claysville, died at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 1975, in his home.
  He was born December 29, 1907, in Eldersville, a son of Bert and Anna Dimit Irwin, and had lived in Claysville the past 42 years.
  Mr. Irwin was a member of the Claysville United Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee, and was a member of American Legion 639, Claysville 23 years.
  He served during World War II as a technician 5th Grade with Company A, 1256 Engineer Combat Battalion. He was employed 14 years with B. F. Drakenfield (sic), and was last employed as a bookkeeper with Sprowls Hardware, retiring in 1971.
  On August 21, 1933, he married Mary E. Post, who survives.
  Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Libby) Wilson, Hollywood, Md.; one son, John B. (Jack) Irwin, Claysville; his mother, Mrs. Anna R. Irwin, Weirton, W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Alta France, Weirton, W. Va., and three grandchildren.
  IRWIN - Friends of Kenneth D. Irwin, of 123 Wayne Street, Claysville, who died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1975, will be received 3-9 p.m. Thursday in the Ferrell Funeral Home, Claysville, where services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in charge of the Rev. David G. Persons. Burial in Claysville Cemetery.
