 ALBERT SPROWLS.
West Finley, May 10. - In less than one week after he had moved from Canonsburg to Elm Grove, W. Va., Albert Sprowls, one of the best known residents of the county, died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edgar Post of Elm Grove. His death was due to a complication of Brights disease and heart trouble. Funeral services will be held from the Claysville Presbyterian church on Wednesday at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Claysville cemetery. Mr. Sprowls was born in East Finley township, March 19, 1845. He was a son of Arthur and Hester Seaman Sprowls, of West Finley township. He spent the early part of his life in East and West Finley townships on a farm. He also conducted a flouring mill, while in this section. Some years ago Mr. Sprowls moved to Canonsburg where he engaged in the milling business. His health failed and last week he decided to move to Elm Grove where his daughter resides. After moving Mr. Sprowls grew worse and instead of unpacking their household goods the family lived with Mrs. Post. Mr. Sprowls rapidly sank until death came Monday morning at 4:30 o'clock. While his death was not unexpected it came as a shock to the many friends located in all sections of Washington county. Mr. Sprowls was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Craig in September, 1872 (sic). Six children were born to them, five of whom are living. They are, A. H. (sic) Sprowls and Thomas Sprowls, of Superior, Wis.; Herbert Sprowls, of Elgin, Ill.; Winona, wife of Edgar Post, of Elm Grove; John Sprowls, a senior in Washington and Jefferson college and former manager of the W. & J. baseball team. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Arthur A. Sprowls and Mrs. S. E. Elliott, of Glade, Kan.; Mrs. D. J. McDaid, of Claysville; Seaman Sprowls, of West Finley. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian church of Canonsburg.
