Her given name is listed as "Elizabeth" in this census. -------------------- DEATH RECORD PORTER Mrs. Porter, wife of Levi Porter, died at the home of her husband in Center township, on Friday Sept. 3rd 1884 (NOTE: THIS IS PROBABLY A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR AS OTHER RECORDS INDICATE SHE DIED ON OCTOBER 3, WHICH WAS A FRIDAY). Mrs. Porter was an excellent and kind hearted lady, and was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. She was a daughter of Hiram Kent (NOTE: THIS CONFLICTS WITH INFORMATION FOUND IN HOWARD LECKEYÕS BOOK WHICH STATES HER FATHER WAS DAVID KENT), deceased, and sister of S. B. and John Kent of Franklin township, and Mrs. H. M. Jacobs, of this place. She was aged about 36 years, and leaves a husband and several small children to mourn the loss of a good wife and loving mother. The funeral took place on Saturday, the interment being made in Green Mount Cemetry (sic).
