August 1, 1925 -------------------- MRS. ROY M. SMITH Mrs. Matilda Porter Smith, aged 61 years, died at noon Saturday in her home, near Arden. She had been seriously ill for two weeks, following a stroke, and had been confined to her bed. She was the wife of Roy M. Smith and was a daughter of the late Levi R. Porter and Elizabeth Kent Porter. She was born April 1, 1876, near Waynesburg. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church and its Missionary Society and was a very active worker in the church. She had resided in the Arden community for 15 years. She and her husband arrived home from Florida on Easter Sunday. She leaves a son, Theodore M. Smith, Washington, R. D. 5; a sister, Mrs. Florence A. Naser, Washington, two half-sisters, Miss Goldie M. Porter and Mrs. Viola Scott, Waynesburg, and one half-brother, Clarence L. Porter, Detroit. Friends will be received at the A. Blaine Day Funeral Home until Wednesday at noon. From then until 2 oÕclock the body will be on view at the Central Presbyterian Church. Services will be held in the church at 2 oÕclock, in charge of the Rev. Walter P. McConkey. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville.
