She was born in Pennsylvania as were her father and mother. Her given name is listed as "Alma" in this census.

The census indicates that she was a 20 year old servant, who was born in November, 1879. She was single and was living with her father, stepmother, 3 sisters, 2 stepsisters and 2 stepbrothers on a farm which was owned free of any mortgage. She is listed as having been born in Pennsylvania as were her father and mother. Her given name and middle initial are listed as "Alma E" in the census.

 Greene County Deed Book 322, page 596 Between Linnie L. Powers and Charles A. Powers, her husband, Mettie M. Smith and Roy M. Smith, her husband, of the county of Washington and state of Pennsylvania and Florence A. Naser, now unmarried, of Seattle, state of Washington, to Henry A. Phillips of Pittsburgh, one half of all the Pittsburgh, or River vein of coal underlying two tracts of land in Wayne Township, Pennsylvania. This indenture indicates Alma Porter died intestate, unmarried and without issue December 23, 1914, leaving the three sisters named to survive her. The consideration was $1496.42. August 1, 1925

 Garrison Funeral Home records at the Cornerstone Genealogical Society in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania indicate she died 12-28-1914 at the age of 33 years 2 months and 1 day. She is listed as a single stenographer, living in East Waynesburg.

 MISS ALMA PORTER
  Miss Alma Porter died at her home in East Waynesburg, Wednesday evening, December 23, at 6:30 o'clock, aged 33 years of pneumonia. Miss Porter was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Porter, deceased, of Center township, and was an excellent christian woman, being a member of the Christian church. She was an efficient stenographer, having been employed in the office of attorney R. E. Kent for some time. She is survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Levi Porter, of East Waynesburg, and five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Linnie Powers, of Washington, Pa.; Mrs. Metta Smith, of near Claysville, Miss Florence Porter, of Los Angeles, Cal., Viola, Goldie, John and Clarence Porter, all at home. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Christian church, conducted by the Rev. J. P. Allison. Interment in Green Mount cemetery.
