 HESTEL (SHORTY) HUFFMAN
  Hestel (Shorty) Huffman, 84, of 549 North Porter Street, Waynesburg, died at 5 p. m. Thursday, October 12, 1967, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
  He was born June 6, 1883, in Morris Township near Nineveh, a son of Richard S. (Dick) and Margaret Wise Huffman.
  His wife, Edith Smith Huffman, whom he married September 18, 1907, survives.
  Mr. Huffman was a member of the Union Valley Methodist Church, at Time, and for the last several years was affiliated with the Washington Street Methodist Church, at Waynesburg, where he was a member of the MenÕs Bible Class. He was also a member of the Waynesburg Lodge 469 IOOF of which he was a past noble grand and had held several other offices. He was also a charter member of the Three Links Club.
  Mr. Huffman had spent the early part of his life at Time, in the Enon area and for the past 45 years had lived at Waynesburg.
  He was employed as a farmer for many years, and upon coming to Waynesburg was employed by the Waynesburg Ice Plant and later for the Home Gas Company. He retired from the gas company following some 30 years service.
  After retiring he worked for the Waynesburg public schools, the Park Association and was appointed safety patrolman for the East Ward School.
  At his safety patrolman post at the corner of High and Porter Streets, one block south of the East Ward Elementary School, Mr. Huffman had been well liked and known by the many children who had passed his post.
  Surviving in addition to his wife is one brother, Arthur Huffman, of Washington.
  One sister and one brother are deceased.
  HUFFMAN - Friends of Hestel (Shorty) Huffman, 84, of 549 North Porter Street, Waynesburg, who died Thursday, October 12, 1967, will be received after 7 p.m. Friday in the Mariner and Milliken Funeral Home, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in charge of Rev. F. C. Bruchell (sic) and Rev. Dean Hughes. Burial in the Rose Mount Cemetery, Rogersville.
