PORTER Mrs. Selina H. Porter, 90, lifelong resident of Greene County, died at 11:55 a. m. Wednesday, April 8, 1953, at her home on the Jefferson Road (Waynesburg R. D. 6). Born December 6, 1862, she was a daughter of Henry L. and Elizabeth Herrington Huffman and was one of the county's oldest and most highly esteemed women. She married Jesse Porter, who died 45 years ago. She was matron at the Greene County Children's Home from 1890 to 1906. For a period of 14 years she made her home with a nephew, the late James T. King, well known Waynesburg hardware merchant, and following the death of Mrs. King she stayed on in the King home and reared Mr. King's two daughters, Marjorie King of Waynesburg, and Dorothy King of Pittsburgh, who were quite small when their mother died. Surviving are one son, William H. Porter, Waynesburg R. D. 6, in whose home she died; one granddaughter, Mrs. Charles R. (Lenora) Myers, Waynesburg, R. D. 6; five great grandchildren, one half-brother, Luther A. King of Clarksburg, W. Va., and her two nieces, Marjorie and Dorothy King. Mrs. Porter was a member of the Jefferson Presbyterian Church. The within described lot shall not be used for any other purpose than the burial of human bodies. 2nd. The proprietor of said lot shall have the right to erect proper stones, monuments or sepulchral structures and to cultivate trees, shrubs and plants thereon; all such stones, monuments or sepulchral structures, however, shall be erected in accordance with the rules and regulations of the cemetery association as they now exist or may hereafter be adopted. 3rd. The proprietor of said lot shall erect or place at his or her own expense, suitable landmarks of stone or iron at the corners thereof, and shall cause the number thereof to be legibly and permanently marked on the premises. And if the proprietor shall neglect, for thirty days after notice, to erect or place such landmarks and mark the number, the said cemetery association through its board of directors shall have authority to cause the same to be done at the expense of said proprietor. All such landmarks must be approved by resolution of the board of directors of said cemetery association. 4th. Should the landmarks and boundaries of said lot become effaced, so that the lot can not with reasonable diligence to found or identified the said cemetery association shall set off to the grantee, his or her heirs or assigns a lot in lieu thereof, in such part of the cemetery as the board of directors of said association by resolution may see fit and the lot hereby granted shall revert, in such case, to the cemetery association. 5th. Should any tree or trees, shrub or shrubs, upon said lot now or at any future time by means of their roots, branches or otherwise, become detrimental to said lot or to adjacent lots or walks, ways, driveways or avenues, or unsightly, dangerous or inconvenient it shall be the duty of the board of directors of said cemetery association and they shall have the right to authorize by resolution their agent, manager, sexton or caretaker to enter upon said lot and remove the said trees and shrubs or such parts thereof as are thus detrimental, unsightly, dangerous or inconvenient. 6th. Should any monument, effigy or any structure whatever, or any inscription be placed in or upon said lot which shall be determined by the board of directors of said cemetery association to be improper or offensive, said board of directors shall have the right and it shall be their duty to authorize by resolution their agent, manager, sexton or caretaker to enter upon said lot and remove the said improper of offensive object or objects. 7th. No fence shall at any time be placed or erected on or around said lot without permission of the board of directors of said association; and such permission shall not be given until after the materials, design and manner of erecting said fence shall have been approved by said board of directors. Such approval and permission shall be by resolution of the board of directors of said cemetery association. 8th. All interments in the aforesaid lot shall be restricted to the members of the family and realtives of the proprietor thereof, except special permission to the contrary be obtained in writing at the office of said cemetery association; and no disinterment shall be allowed without permission from the board of directors of said cemetery association, which permission to disinter shall be by resolution of said board of directors. 9th. No interment shall take place in said lot without a written permission from the office of said cemetery association. 10th. All graves, post holes and excavations for vaults and foundations shall be dug by the employes of said cemetery associations and the reasonable cost thereof paid or caused to be paid to its secretary by the proprietor of said lot. 11th. The proprietor of the aforesaid lot shall not sell nor transfer same to another without permission by resolution from the board of directors of said cemetery association. 12th. The said lot is sold, purchased and holden subject to the character of The Oakmont Cemetery Association , the reservation in deed from Russell Ferrell to said cemetery association and also subject to the rules and regulations which may from time to time be adopted for the government of said cemetery.
