Surviving are his wife, Nannie Sprowls Porter; one son, Ralph E. Porter of Waynesburg; two grandsons, William E. Porter and Ralph Edward Porter II; three sisters, Mrs. George Francis of Claysville; Mrs. Jessie McKee of Washington, and Miss Minnie Porter of Prosperity, and one brother, Edward Porter of Washington.
