Note: is various children. At one time when he was living with his son John Kerr Law II and his wife Pearl he broke his collarbone when he fell off the porch during a bad winter storm. This was in Detroit. He was a very strong willed individual. [JKL]
John emmigrated from Scotland to the United States in 1887. He eventually settled in Bay City, Michigan by 1900. In the 1900 census, John lists his occupation as a machinist. In the 1910 census, he has changed the listing of his occupation, but it is unclear to what. [MAL]
