  J A Rowell Dead
Word came Sunday to Manager Gilstrap of the Gould Telephone Exchange, that "Uncle Ad" had died at 6 o'clock Saturday afternoon. It was sad news to his many friends here as we had great hopes for his recovery. He was at the home of his daughter Mrs. B. E. Rushing at Newlin, Texas and had been there a few days. On Friday alarm was felt for him and on the following day at 6 pm despite all efforts to relieve him his spirit wafted away to join that of his life companion who preceded him last February. Arrangements were made for burial in the Gould Cemetery. The corpse arrived on the noon train, and was transferred to the home until 2 o'clock when Rev Plunkett paid a last tribute to the noble and immortal monument left to his memory. Followed immediately to the cemetery where loving friends fulfilled his last request "To lay him by the side of his wife".
Relatives present were his two sons, Woodson of Gould, Jim of Wichita Falls, his daughter Mrs. B. E. Rushing of Newlin, Texas and his sister Mrs. Lewis of Hollis. 'Uncle Ad" Rowell and his family are old settlers in this country and are renowned for their integrity and honesty in their social and business transactions. We join the many friends of this esteemed family in their loss of both father and mother for when we lose our parents a friend who would defy the world in our behalf is gone.
