OCC: Mildred was a school teacher for many years, starting out in a one room school in Waverly, WA. She then taught several years in Centralia, WA; then in Walla Walla, WA. After her marriage to Ernest Bauer in 1951, she taught school in Athena, OR where she retired. After Ernie's death in 1976, she remained in Athena until 1981 when she moved to Newberg, OR to be near Don and Norma Bauer, her step-son and neice.
