a. Note:   Possibly the James Burnett, age 22 yrs., born England, who was working as a warehouseman and living as a boarder with Alexander Pyper at 117 John Knox St., Glasgow; at the time of the 1881 census. No other James Burnett of the right age has
 been found on the 1881 census index.
 At the time of his death, at the age of 30 yrs., in 1888, James was unmarried and living at "Fairfield" Stainsacre-the home of his older brother Christopher.
