  Levis served in the Civil War, Company B, 29th Regiment of Infantry Veteran Volunteers, enrolled 31st day of Dec. 1863 to serve three years and fought at Gettsburg.1881 He was discharged July 17, 1865 in Alexandria, Va. (copy discharge
 papers). A questionaire that Levis completed on May 4, 1898 for his Civil War pension records states that he was married to Susan Sutten and divorced in Philadelphia 1865.
 When Martha applied for widows pension after Levis died (1920) she wrote that he was divorced on the sixth day of November 1869. I believe it was 1865. He was discharged from the army on July 17, 1865. Also on pension records that Levis
 filled out on April 8, 1915, it asked to list the names and dates of birth of all your children, living or dead. The following is his list:

 Civil War Pension records stae that on Sept. 7th, 1862, he was at Belle Island Prison, Va. and contracted catank of head and rheumatism. His name is on the Pa. monument at Gettysburg. Looking at the monument, go around to the right; his name
 is on the 3rd plaque.
