When Hannah's mother (stepmother??) died in 1859, she was buried in Loftus but her death was not registered in either Whity or Guisborough registration districts. Perhaps she had gone to live with her daughter Hannah in Scarborough after husband John Burnett died in 1853. Hannah's mother may therefore have died in Scarborough and her body was taken back to Loftus to be buried with her husband.
