 NANCY O. GREGORY

 Nancy Owens Gregory, 83, widow of James B. "Bib" Gregory, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at the home of her daughter.
  Born Dec. 9, 1934, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Oris M. Owens Sr. and Leila Geddings Owens. She attended Green Acres Assembly of God. Mrs. Gregory was employed by Sumter County for more than 30 years. She served as deputy auditor for many years and retired after serving two terms as Sumter County auditor. Following her retirement, she worked as a volunteer at Tuomey Hospital.
  Survivors include two children, Sandra F. Gregory and Gregory J. "Greg" Gregory Sr. (Pam), all of Sumter; an adopted daughter, Doris Powers; two grandchildren, Gregory J. Gregory Jr. (Amanda) and Lacey N. Gregory; two great-grandchildren, Xander and Taygen; two sisters, Margaret Costner and Linda McCoy; a brother, Melvin Owens; and a number of nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lee Robinson and Shirley Stanley.
  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Michael Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
  Pallbearers will be Dickie Shriver, David Westhead, Matt Smith, Rick Thomas, Greg Gregory Jr. and Ronnie Gregory.
  The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 3875 Barfield Road.
  The family would like to express their appreciation to her special hospice nurse, Analea Godwin, and her special caregiver and friend, Mattie Hicks, for all of their loving care and compassion.
