 I have just beeen looking over your McMichael history on Ancestry.com and am wondering if you have any knowledge of Ann Vernon's parents? I have an Easterling Bible record that indicates that they were Richard Vernon and Martha Jones.
 Another Vernon researsher (Robert Vernon) and I have (for years!) been trying to identify this Richard. I am just speculating, but I believe that he might have been a brother to John Vernon who came over on the ship Nancy in 1763 at age 30.
 This John had sons Robert, Richard, John and James and a daughter, Margaret. There is a document with all of these names and the administrator of the document was a McMichael..no first name given. The date of the document was about 1800. I
 also think that it is possible that Alexander Vernon of Spartenburg, SC was a brother of Richard and John, Sr.
 I wondered if your grandmother that you mention might have said where they were all from, Scotland, Ireland, or England.
